PILOT’S CONFESSION UNDERMINES PRETEXT OF BOMBING IRAQ TO PROTECT KURDS

On 19 February 1998, Flight Lieutenant John Nichols made an enlightening, but shocking, admission during a World in Action discussion on ITV. He explained that when he was based at a Turkish airfield to patrol Northern Iraq, there were also Turkish aircraft, parked alongside his own, which would regularly take off and bomb the very same Kurdish communities which the RAF were ostensibly there to protect.1
