WINSTON CHURCHILL SUGGESTS ‘KEEP ENGLAND WHITE’ AS AN ELECTION SLOGAN

On 20 January 1955, Defence Minister Harold Macmillan noted that at a Cabinet meeting there had been ‘more discussions about the West Indian immigrants. A bill is being drafted but it is not an easy problem. P.M. (Winston Churchill) thinks ‘Keep England White’ a good slogan’ for the next general election. 1
