BRITISH SECURITY FORCES ASSASSINATE THE LORD MAYOR OF CORK

At about 2 am on Saturday 19 March 1920, Tomas Mac Curtain, the Republican Lord Mayor of Cork, who was a leading figure in the long political struggle to end British rule, was shot dead in his own home by armed intruders with blackened faces.

On 20 March 2003, Britain joined the United States in an illegal military assault on Iraq in order to enforce regime change and supposedly eliminate the country’s ‘weapons of mass destruction,’ even though London was aware that there was no credible evidence for their existence.
