TOWN DEEMED ‘COWARDLY’ PUNISHED WITH SHARP RICE RATION CUT AND CURFEW

On 26 March 1952, General Walter Templer, the British High Commissioner in Malaya, informed three hundred leading members of the Malayan, Chinese and Indian communities of Tanjong Malim that the entire town’s population of five thousand was to be subjected to a harsh collective punishment for an indefinite period.

Today in 2015, Saudi Arabia began its war of aggression against Yemen backed by UK diplomatic support, arms, equipment and training. By early 2018, the Saudis who had targeted civilian infrastructure, including schools, hospitals, markets and weddings, on multiple occasions, killing some 14,000 including many women and children, and implementing a savage blockade of the country, had generated what the UN declared was the ‘world’s worst humanitarian crisis.’
