8TH MARCH

8th March 1985 – Britain’s MI6 assisted the CIA and Saudi agents in their attempt to target Sheikh Hussein Fadlallah, an author and scholar who called for armed resistance to the Israeli occupation of Gaza and the West Bank. The means used was a massive car bomb placed outside a mosque in a Beirut market which killed eighty people and injured at least 175.  Many women and children were among the casualties.
